This product that she had become dependent on could take away the thing that she’s the most passionate about, and beyond that potentially take away her life. I was terrified for her because of this thing that she stumbled into over the course of her nightlife as a student and as a young bisexual woman (which I later realized put her at twice as much risk as a heterosexual person for starting to vape).

My little sister is a professional singer and a really amazing vocalist and song-writer. First, she was socially smoking and then she became pretty dependent on nicotine as a substance. Despite there being much more nicotine in vape products, she quickly moved to cigarettes as well. However, the huge amount of nicotine in the pods soon proved to be enough. Of course, I worried about this newfound addiction, but she assured me that it was safer because she was vaping and not smoking. Vaping pods with flavors and very high concentrations of nicotine. In their free time, you can find Javier scuba diving, being a loving dog dad, and in the outdoors! They worked as a consultant for México Media Lab – a binational, boutique consulting firm in Mexico City leading legislative research for the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Tech Emerge Program – a program to develop sustainable cooling models throughout México. In this capacity, Solís worked full-time for a U.S.-Mexico company as well as obtained a full-ride MBA at the prestigious Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Prior to joining the Network, Solís was 1 of 15 young professionals selected throughout the United States as a Fulbright Binational Business Fellow by the U.S. They have worked with nonprofits, government agencies, and foundations to lead positive social change and foster a culture of inclusion. Their project management skills allow them to provide expertise in creative content production, messaging development, and digital strategy at the Network. Javier Solís is a cultural strategist with experience working at the intersections of movement building, communications strategy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
